Introduction To Landing Page Optimization
What’s up guys. It’s Taylor Timothy, and today we’re gonna be talking about landing page optimization. Some of these tips and tricks I’m going to share also applied to site optimization bullets always any more time and dive right in.
1. Image Sizes
the first thing I want to talk about, his image sizes. So a lot of times people use too big of images on their landing pages and on their sites, and what happens is this slows down your site’s speeds. So the site super laggy, it doesn’t load fast enough, and this definitely hurts your conversion rate.
2. Everything Above The Fold
The second thing I want to talk about is everything above the fold, so not everything needs to be above the fold, but the very most important information needs to be above the fold. So if you have a video and you have some text and you have a button, all of that means to be above the fold over on desktop and mobile. This is one of the huge red flags that I see when I pull up anybody’s landing pages is a lot of times the important information is not above the fold.
3. Dont Use Sliders
The next thing I want to talk about is not using sliders. So a lot of times people will have sliding images and the backgrounds of things and they’ll use sliders to display their information. Yes, this seems cool. It seems user friendly, but I promise you guys, it slows down your site. Speed’s so don’t use sliders.
4. Passing The Five Second Test
The next thing I want to talk about is the five second test. So what does this imply? So the five second test basically is the immediate, somebody comes to your website, they need to know what your business is or what the offer is and how to get it. So basically if you’re offering a free video guide or series, basically that information needs to be in the headline and the button needs to imply that as well, showing them how to get that information. So all this needs to happen within five seconds. So the faster you can tell your story, the more likely you are going to convert them into a lead or a.
5. Site Load Speeds
So the next thing I want to talk about, his site load speeds. So there’s a bunch of free tools out there on the web. You can figure out how long it takes for your site to load or landing page to load. I recommend that it loads faster than four seconds. So four seconds is your Max. If it’s loading slower, more than likely you need to go back and optimize images and different things like that. But you got four seconds to get that thing to load.
6. No Custom Code
Last but not least from my experience and my expertise, I personally do not custom code. I’m not a believer and custom coding, so I say no custom code on your current website. There’s so many different templates out there that you guys can use to the look and feel that you’re going for all in all.
To me, what’s important to me is actually getting leads and sales for your business. That’s why you have your website. So to me, to make that happen, you do not need to custom code and custom coding takes so much time and effort. So that’s my personal belief on that. No custom code.
