What Is A Lead Magnet?
so the very first thing I want to talk about is what is a lead magnet? So basically what a lead magnet is something you put on your website where people give you information such as their name, email, and phone number for exchange for whatever you’re giving them for free. So that is what a lead magnet is.
So you might be asking, well, what is the purpose of this lead magnet? The purpose of it is basically you’re helping someone right up front in exchange for their name, email, and phone number. You’re giving them a guide, a video series, anything that’s going to be helping solve their problem. So like I said, they need to solve a problem.
Examples
Plumber
So I’m going to give you guys some examples. The first one I’m going to talk about is a plumber. So if I was a plumber, maybe you could create a free video series or a guide talking about how to fix your leaky faucet.
Dentist
Another example, it could be a dentist. So let’s say the dentist does a free video series or a guide on how to properly brush your teeth.
Clothing Business
Let’s talk about a clothing business. The clothing business could easily teach people how to properly wash their clothes through video series, guide checklist, anything like that.
A Consultant
A consultant you could give a step by step process on how to properly scale your business and marketing agency could give you a guide on how to generate more leads and sales for your business. So a lot of people might come back and say, well, you can’t give away all this free information.
Two Types Of People
And my own personal opinion is you have two types of people. You have one person that doesn’t want to do it and they’re going to hire somebody how to do it, and that is your target audience. And then on the other hand, you have somebody that is going to figure out how to do it on their own by themselves no matter what.
And they’re never going to pay for any products or service. So the truth is we have the internet and you can find anything on it just like this video. So that’s my own opinion. You have to go out there, delivered tons of free content to these people through these lead magnets.
Lead Magnet Ideas
So here’s just some simple lead magnet ideas that I want to share with you guys.
A Guide
The first one is a guide that you can create for them. So basically a step by step guide, 10 steps on how to do x, Y, z.
Training or Webinar
The next one is a video training or a Webinar. Basically inside this Webinar you can teach them your process on how to do x, Y, z.
Free Trial
The third one is a free trial. So maybe you’re a SAS company, you can give them a 14 day free trial on using your product or, and other form of a lead magnet could possibly be a discount.
Discount
So a lot of times you can give discounts right up front to get them to purchase a lower ticket item before they go on and buy your high ticket items. So a discount code.
Free Consultation
The sixth one is a free consultation. You can go out there, give them free consultations on how to solve their problems, whatever you do if your product or service, but you can give a free consultation just in case.
