Introduction To The Marketing Lyfe Podcast
Episode 50 of the marketing life podcast. This is Taylor Timothy your host. Today we’re gonna be talking about some different things. We’re not even going to be talking about marketing. This, this podcast today is all about me today.
I just didn’t want to open up and be really vulnerable, uh, with you guys, my audience, and uh, Kinda let you guys know what’s going on in my life. Um, and was happened. So basically this is my year mark of leaving the agency, starting my podcast, working on my course and, and kind of doing my own thing. Let’s dive in.
What I’ve Learned In The Year
So guys, um, this, this, like I said, marks my year mark in the marketing game, marketing filled and going out on my own. It’s been, it’s been a heck of a journey. A lot of stuff has happened, uh, since I left the agency. A lot of good things have happened, but a lot of just life changing experiences.
I left the agency, I got married, uh, two, a beautiful wife. Um, and I just want to share with you guys some things that I’ve, I’ve really learned, um, this past year. So it’s kind of a celebration, I guess you could say.
Believe In Yourself
But first thing I want to talk about is believe in yourself. All you guys out there, I want you guys to understand and realize that you need to truly believe in yourself because you are amazing.
Like everyone has something amazing to offer and the entrepreneur world, um, everyone has something and everyone has that potential to fully achieve their goals and to achieve what they want in life. I really hope that anyone listening out there truly can accept that and realize that and see their actual potential.
One of the first things that I’ve really learned, uh, is to believe in yourself. It took a lot for me to take that leap of faith and to, to really go out on my own and not rely on somebody for education and things like that and to stay on top of the marketing game. Believe in yourself.
Appreciate The People Around You
Um, the next thing that I want to talk about is to appreciate the people around you. Um, so since I’ve left, um, I reflect back on when I was working in the agency. And learning all the things that I learned there. I more and more every day, you know, think my, I call him my mentor, he might’ve called me, you know, his employee, whatever.
But Jason Vernon taught me a lot. You know, he, he taught me so many different things about business, about entrepreneurship, about different things like that. For me, like even stepping back and after leaving the agency just gained more of appreciation for the things, you know, that he taught me.
Also, you know, shout out to, you know, my family and people around me as well. Like they’re there to support me and believe in me at all times.
So I’ve always found finding ways to appreciate people and show them gratitude and things like that, that’s just going to help you continue your journey. Um, wherever you’re going in life, entrepreneurship, whatever it might be. So I just challenge you guys to appreciate people and, and give thanks to them and, and show them gratitude because they probably help you more than you think. So that’s Kinda the other thing that I’ve learned, um, along this journey.
Go All In On Your Opportunities
Um, the other thing that I want to talk about is go all in on your opportunities. What I mean by that is you might have a lot of opportunities come up and you might take them and then you might question them and things like that. But what I look at when I look back, you know, one of the things I have to give myself credit to when I was in the agency is I was all in and on taking those opportunities. So I wouldn’t have learned what I learned if I didn’t go all in on those opportunities. So when you guys take something, um, take some sort of opportunity, don’t just do it half, you know, um, obviously I need to have respect for yourself, um, but go all in on those opportunities and you’re gonna learn so much more.
I can even look back. So I did student government in college and I can look back even all the way to that and say, I might’ve not have been all in on that opportunity and I probably could’ve got a lot more out of it because I even reflect back on it and go, I actually learned a lot from that opportunity. So, but when you guys have these opportunities come up, I just recommend that you guys make it so you can go all in on that opportunity. And that’s one of the things that I’ve learned, just reflecting this past year is just thinking about the opportunities that I’ve, that have been given to me and how I go all in on those opportunities and I get so much out of them.
Be Vulnerable
The next thing I want to talk about is being vulnerable. Um, this is a very interesting topic that has been coming up lately. I’m just in books. I’m reading and things like that. But people are talking about being vulnerable and being vulnerable and showing and sharing those feelings that, that you are having. And what I have found is when you’re being vulnerable, a, it creates a bond of trust.
So whether you’re being vulnerable with clients, being vulnerable with your family members, it enhances, increases trust. So I’ve just found that being vulnerable, being open, being honest, completely honest, 110% honest at all times and not beating around the Bush, people find that very respectful and it just creates this bond of trust. And so as something I’ve definitely learned in this last year is, is just to be vulnerable.
Don’t Give Up Don’t Give In and Don’t Settle
The next thing I’ll talk about is don’t give up and don’t give in and don’t settle. So this kind of fires me up guys, because there’s a youtube video that says that, and I have listened to it over and over and over again, and you guys need to realize that you don’t ever give up and don’t ever given and don’t just settle for par.
You guys, you guys can achieve so much more. And so basically this year of reflection, um, basically I’ve just found that you just cannot ever give up and don’t ever give in and don’t ever just settle for those things. So you also just reach for the stars. Guys have high hopes, high dreams, and it’s just going to benefit you.
Don’t Let Fear Hold You Back
And the last thing I want to talk about is don’t let fear hold you back. So one of the things I have found is that people, they get fearful and it stops them a holds everything back from them and they, it makes it so they can’t achieve their goals.
So the fear of posting something on social media and thinking what your friends think and the fear of not pressing go on those ads because you’re, you’re scared that they’re going to fail. And then the fear of shooting that video and putting all the time into it, don’t let that fear hold you back. Realize that you can learn from these things. Online marketing is trial and error over and over and over again. So don’t let that fear hold you back.
