Introduction to the Marketing Lyfe Podcast Ep. 137
Episode, one 37 of the marketing life podcast. This is Taylor Timothy, your host. And today, guys, we’re going to be talking about the Facebook rules. So there’s walls inside of Facebook that you can use. And the big question a lot of people might ask is should I actually use them? So let’s not waste any more time and dive right in.
Ask Yourself Three Simple Questions
So guys, there’s three simple questions that I always ask myself when I’m actually going to be running Facebook ads. And if I actually want to use rules.
1. How much am I actually spending?
So one of the first questions I always ask myself is how much am I actually spending? If you have a smaller budget, more than likely you’re not going to really need to use Facebook rules because you’re not going to have tons of different ads actually running. And that can technically affect your ad rules, because if you’re watching them, you might be turning them off before the rules even go off and so on and so forth, which actually leads me to my next question is how many ads are you actually running?
2. How many ads am I running?
Are you only running like five different ads then potentially again, you don’t really need to actually set up these ad rules. I would say if you’re running ads and you have like 200 different ad types, then yeah, potentially you’re going to want to set up rules inside of your ads manager.
3. How often am I looking at my campaigns?
The next question that you might ask yourself is like, how much am I actually going to be going into my Facebook ad account and checking the results that I’m actually producing. Now, if you do have a small budget and you just plan on setting these up once and seeing what happens then yeah, you might want to set up an ad rule. If for, for example, if the cost per conversion goes above 50, then shut them off. But the thing is, if you’re really not going to be in there, diving in learning these different things, then I might argue and say, well, then what’s the point?
Summary
So the thing is, in my own opinion, when you’re running Facebook ads, when you’re running Google paid ads, you’ve got to be all in. You’ve got to really dive in and dial them in. So that’s my own opinion. Those are some of the things that I ask myself when setting up ad campaigns in all honesty, for the most part, I don’t always use rules. I use rules for every now and again. Um, but I don’t use it all the time because I’m usually an ad accounts every single day, looking at the data, analyzing the data and see what’s going on.
