Introduction to the Marketing Lyfe Podcast Ep. 132
Episode, one 32 of the marketing life podcast. This is Taylor Timothy, your host. And today, guys, we’re going to be talking about how to keep your Facebook ad in good standing. So let’s not waste any more time and dive right in.
Keeping your Facebook Account in Good Standing
So guys in one of the ad accounts that I manage lately, what I’ve been seeing, it’s been quite interesting. I will, it was actually, this actually happened on two ad accounts. I got a notification that one of my ads was shut down. Like my, one of my ads was rejected and I was like, what? And I pull up the campaign that I’m running. That’s on check the ads. And I’m like, there’s no rejected ads. So then I’m like, what the heck? So then I click on all my campaigns, pull up all the ads I’ve ever created. And then I started seeing these rejected ads that actually aren’t running. And I was like, what the heck? So it’s almost like a bot still going out there and searching through ad accounts. And even though the ads aren’t even running and they’re flagging some of them.
Delete Old Campaigns We Aren’t Using
So what I’m going to tell you guys is what I personally chose to do for my clients in this instance was to actually go through and delete old campaigns that we aren’t ever going to use again. And now some people might say, Oh my gosh, all that data, like the numbers you can see and duh, right. Honestly, it was, it was kind of hard. It’s like trying to delete.
I started doing photography and it’s like trying to delete a picture that I edited a long time ago that it’s like, well, I like that picture, but I might never use it again, but it’s like keeping it, you know, you like, you like connect to that, those old campaigns and those old data like that old data. But I chose to go through and actually delete them because I don’t want ads getting flagged on my account.
Delete Ad if it gets Denied
So I actually had a conversation with one of my buddies the other day, and one of our rules of thumb actually to keep our ad accounts in good standing with Facebook is to actually just delete the ad if it gets denied and not put it through a review process, because I personally don’t want anybody analyzing that’s inside of Facebook, the account, that’s just my own personal preference, obviously.
Yes. I know they can go in there as much as they want and really look into it if they want. But that’s personally what I do.
Screen Shot Your Data
So in my own opinion, to keep your ad account in good standing is to go through and just cut ties with old campaigns that you’re never going to use again, screenshot the data. So you have it, put it in a spreadsheet, something like that, just so you know, but delete those old campaigns because for all, you know, you could wake up the next day and you could have 500 ads shut down from Facebook and now your Facebook ad account, isn’t in good standing, who knows. Right.
Summary
So my own personal opinion again, is to delete all those campaigns. And then if you ever get an ad shut down that you just created just to lead it, change some copy, maybe change the creative, who knows what it is, but just delete it immediately. And I promise you you’re more likely to have a good, healthy ad account and always be in good standing with face.
